I love when Tops does Meal Deals! It makes it easy to figure out what is for dinner! In my opinion it is a little too hot to fire up the stove, so I have posted crock pot variations of the BBQ Chicken and Chicken Parm to go with the chicken meal deal . I like the burger at $2.29/lb., and we have zucchini coming out of our ears right now, but if the heat continues I will probably just do tacos, the Tops brand sour cream, and tortilla’s are also on sale if you decide on tacos too. I love Margherita Pizza, and just like all pizzas it can totally be personalized to you tastes, don’t like feta? leave it off, only want to use fresh mozzarella? it still is amazing, I don’t think you can ruin this pizza! I use the pizza dough balls, you can get fresh in the plastic bags usually somewhere near the deli or frozen in the bread section of the freezer case. If you do want to go with all 4 of the cheeses, fresh mozzarella and feta are on sale this week. BLTs made with fresh tomatoes and lettuce are so yummy, if you shop farmers markets you should be beginning to see some early local tomatoes. You can get the Smithfield bacon BOGO this week at Tops, and a homegrown lettuce $1/lb. And for Sunday, my husband has been bugging me to cook ribs for a while now, the ribs that are on sale this week are a 3 piece big pack for $1.99/lb. in a 12-15 lb. avg. pkg, that is a lot of meat so I will freeze half and save it for another meal.
In the spirit of my new series Simply Summer Produce, I am including two recipes that you can use if you pick up some locally grown produce while you are shopping at Tops this week!
| Monday | crockpot barbecue chicken |
| Tuesday | Stuffed Zucchini or Tacos, I am on the fence. |

Homegrown Produce ideas:
Roquefort Pear Salad I love homegrown lettuce, this week Tops has homegrown leaf or Romaine lettuces on sale for $1/1lb. and Fresh Bartlett Pears for $1.49. This salad is exceptional, the combination of flavors is perfect for summer, you get creaminess from the cheese and avacodo, sweetness from the pears, and a tangy dressing really make this a gourmet style salad recipe. Roquefort is a type of blue cheese, it can be easily substituted with your favorite blue crumbles. The pears are not included in the localy grown section of th ad, but are too good to leave out of the recipe.
Radish Relish Radishes are $1 a bunch at Tops this week. I am not a fan of radishes, but I have relatives who love radish relish and use it it as a topping for stir fries and salads.
